ABC of the Apocalypse - Hu, the Core
One by one, all of our beliefs fell apart, crumbling in front of the realization that we were doomed.
The sea was tainted, the sky clouded, the earth destroyed. Nothing was left for us, no light nor shadow of the resurgence of hope that we had long fought for. We stood there, trembling, holding on to each other as we saw everything we knew go dark in front of our very own eyes. Void. Nullness.
What could we do at that time, except waiting? And thus, we waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Nothing came, for a while. Then, just as we though that maybe the complete darkness we were plunged it was our real punishment, we felt a crack, deep inside.
The earth shook, we fell to the ground, no longer able to stand with any kind of balance as our world shifted in place beneath out feet. Completely defenceless, we looked at each other's faces and we realized: we were able to see, there was light somewhere, somehow. Was it good? We pondered.
No, it could not have been.
Something had broken. Our very own home, destroyed, now split in half from a creature emerging from its core. The egg had cracked too early. It was malformed, weak, feeble, glowing of an energy Adronar was longing for.
We saw it for a minute before we started to fall.
And nothingness again returned to nothingness.
