Practicing staining, the top 2 fish are painted with some wood stain I found, it's very smelly! The rest were done with non toxic paint and look much better imo. I really like how fast offset engraving is and the scribbly look but at the same time it really struggles with corners, perhaps it just needs more power idk
I have 1-2 sheets of this wood left, gonna make more blank paws to paint normally and offer them for custom colors. I have a ton of fish from trying to calibrate the laser after finally getting it working again

these look really nice.. ^.^ ..and the layering for a 3d effect looks sweet..
if ""struggles with corners"" you mean the cutting, at one time me and pa tryed using the laser.. found that foro cutting, multiple passes were better then cutting it at a slower pace or more potent beam (less "spill" butning)...
..just our experience learning the thing.. we ended placing it back at the box and used only the FDM.. it was more fun to print.

Offset fill is an engraving setting where the laser "draws" the markings instead of moving side to side like an ink printer. All the triangles on the dog paw have faded corners from the issue but it's likely I just have it moving too fast, though the method also just isn't good for everything.
mayhaps our solution to laser engraving may also fit.. as long as all things remain at the same place, two files overlaping or having diferent settings within the same file.. multiple passes for deeper engravings and cuts, single pass or few ones for normal engraving.. for us, back then, it helped not scorching a large area while cutting the wood pannels while engraving the way we wanted... it worked for out 3 axis FDM printer.. may work for your setup.
if the encoding program can not have multiple overlaping settings, one could still engrave by overlapping using diferent files..
