Even before meeting Ralus, Victor was always an arrogant, mean-spirited trash talker that powers through fights with sheer initial, overwhelming might. While time with his more chill dragon rival tempered him a little, his brash mouth still gets him into more fights than one can count. Unfortunately, this time he bad-mouthed the wrong dalmatian.

After ridiculing Alice's side gig as a werewolf hunter (despite Ralus knowing of the existence of at least 3, go figure), the spotted dog threw down the gauntlet, and the two agreed to a cage match. Victor's tried-and-true method of overwhelming his foe early on didn't really stick with the more technical Alice, who was able to keep up with, and eventually overcome the aloof wolf with a crushing knee to the snout. Good thing Vic's roommates with a healer like Ralus, but man, that's gotta sting.
