Scar did not dare to stay in the pride and/or was exiled by Mufasa after he became king of Milele (now known as Prideland), and then, being a lion with royal blood, he managed to somehow create his own pride. Admiring Kiros and the outcasts, he named it that way: Outland.
It took him a long time to pick up the queen, but still his gaze caught on Zira. An imposing woman, capable of giving birth to a healthy heir, capable of taking revenge on Mufasa and his pride.
But bad luck: Nuka is the first son, who did not meet the expectations of the Scar: he was born sluggish, weak, puny, like the Scar itself. However, this did not stop the king from doubting Zira as a queen and lioness capable of bringing a healthy and powerful heir.
Thank God, two healthy lion cubs are being born. Another mistake: a female. Vitani, good one, beautiful.. But it's still not what Scar expected. But finally! The second one is a male, everything is as it should be. Kovu. A beautiful creature with big, bright green eyes. A wayward fellow who will soon be raised as a real fiend, a devil, a murderer. They are born on time, as if by order - when Kiara and Kopa, the children of Simba and Nala, are born. They didn't have looped attention on Kopa, because Scar had set himself the goal of raising a newborn son to conquer Prideland and Kiara. There was only one task - to ingratiate himself into the confidence of the young princess, her father, the entire pride, and then stange the sudden death of king Simba.
After Kovu was born, Scar taught him how he should have been, reminding him who the Pridelanders were to them, and why they lived in an almost eternal drought, and not like in a Prideland - a bunch of grass, trees, a wide range of animals. Kovu was trained as a lion, capable of overthrowing the current king and taking over lands, lionesses, and prey.
There is no pleasant Kovu, kind, sensitive lion here, like it was in a movie. He was raised in such conditions that kindness has no place. Zira is a strict mother, incapable of pity. One mistake and that's it, consider that today you are not sleeping in a cozy family circle, but under the gaze of the cold wind and the moon, and even with a wrinkled muzzle.
As time passed, the children grew up. The mother still doubted Kovu, but there were backup options for that, too. If Kovu is drugged by their princess, brought to reason and forced to become a wonderful king, incapable of killing and overthrowing her father, then Vitani will act.
It turned out that she was having an affair with Simba's youngest son, Kopa, but Vitani had no idea that Zira knew about it. She just thought that because of Kovu's eternal training, they wouldn't even pay attention to her: Vitani often left the Outland at night to meet her love at the border. She was happy that she had such an opportunity.
It is in my story that Kovu is a villain, a henchman of his mother and father, a murderer, a conqueror, while Vitani is a pleasant lady with a kind and sensitive heart capable of love. She was not raised as a ruthless and bloodthirsty maniac, she herself grew up in her mother's love: Kovu and Nuka did not get it, but the only girl in the litter got a full mother's love.
