Those who've followed me for a while are already aware, I am an *incredibly* self-destructive person, and have been for years, so self-care has always been nearly impossible. I'm slowly getting better at this though! Late last year, I had to cut close ties of 8 years after finally accepting how unhealthy that friendship was becoming. In short, I constantly felt trapped, guilty for being more independent and trying to work on improving myself, while trying to help someone didn't want to help themselves. It was the first time I decided to take care of myself, so I don't regret it. It'll just unfortunately hit me in waves for a while.
