Alyssa is a bandit in the River Queens, a gang of river pirates and highwaymen operating in the Liger River Valley under the direction of the notorious Colette Tromel, the Thief-Queen of the Liger.
Born the Seventhdaughter of a peasant family in the Duchy of Anjev, Alyssa ran way from home, earning a meager living doing odd jobs around Anjev before falling in with Colette's gang. Her small, but innate magical aptitude brought her to the attention of Colette, who gifted the girl with an antique brooch while giving her more and more work in the gang's inner circle.
The cursed talsim transformed Alyssa into a Garwaf and she became a member of a more exclusive group within the gang, the Blandamour Moonpack.
Alyssa is one of the kinder members of the moonpack, but remains fiercely loyal to her mistress Colette, who rescued her from utter poverty at the lowest point in her life. At times, Colette takes advantage of Alyssa's inherent kindness, using her to gain an advantage over captives and victims, as she did with the corruption of the Kuziliad (Court Lawyer) Quinn Mercier.
I had a lot of fun designing Alyssa, who first appears in Albionwalker's short story, set in the Kroashent Universe, The Captivity of Quinn Mercier.
