While out tending to her shrine, Reimu Hakurei noticed a lioness prowling around the shrine grounds. Before she could react, the lioness pounced on her, knocking her down to the ground. Locking eyes with the lioness, Reimu felt a chill run down her spine and she could swear that there was a strange twinkle in the lioness's eyes. Reimu could feel her teeth sharpening, and when she looked down at the lioness's forepaws, they seemed to be stretching out into more hand-like shapes. Reimu's fingernails started to sharpen into claws and her palms and fingertips started to thicken into pads. As the lioness's hind paws started to take on more humanlike shapes, a coat of tawny fur started to cover Reimu's body and her feet burst through her shoes, more closely resembling paws at this point. Her body completely covered in fur and her face more leonine than human, Reimu looked at the lioness once more, realizing that the lioness was starting to grow hair on her head and that her face was taking on a much more humanlike appearance.
