has this great gem hot and tasty!!******************************
14 ounce pressed cut tofu
.75 cup milk
2 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups panko bread crumbs
.25 cup butter
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
.5 teaspoon garlic powder
1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Three bowls are needed. In the first bowl, whisk together milk and the teaspoon of hot sauce. In the second bowl, whisk together flour and salt. In the third bowl, place panko bread crumbs.
3. Put a few of the pieces of tofu into flour, then milk, then flour, then milk, and then panko. Make sure it is fully coated in panko. Repeat with all tofu. Spray baking sheet with non-stick spray, then put tofu on the sheet. Put them into the oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway into the time. Take them out when they are brown and crunchy.
4. Make the sauce by melting the butter and olive oil in a small sauce pan. Then whisk in hot sauce, brown sugar, paprika, and garlic powder. Let simmer for a minute, then turn heat off. Once the tofu is done, toss the tofu in the sauce and serve.
From Chris: This can be easily adapted to an air fryer, and it wont take as long (5-10 minutes at the most, just work in batches)
Also, Mise en place is essential. That way, you don't waste time in making this and you keep everything in order.
