My new obsession: dugout canoes! :P
I've been reading about some neolithic dugout canoes that were found in Europe, and some were almost 20 metres long, so I wanted to draw something along those lines.
The Herimash, one of the two catfolk species of my setting, are not afraid of water. They often live in deep forests, but also in swamps, wetlands and isolated islands, all places where other sentient races don't venture to and where they can lead their semi-nomadic life in peace. While some tribes are skilled sailors in the open seas, for others a canoe is more than enough, and in this case the whole tribe has come together to create one: they found a huge, straight tree, chopped it down, and now they are in the process of hollowing it out through a mix of controlled burning and carving. Once ready, it will be able to carry a whole war party!

Many years ago I was Injured spent 3 months in a cast and another 3 on crutches ..... I was BORED out of my skull and TV sucked after a while back in the days when you had 4 channels ..... I was so bored i even started reading books People loaned me one set was not my thing BUT I read them ..... Jean M Auel Clan of the Cave Bear and the rest of the series. In one of the books they describe how they made those canoes and other wooden objects, Like wooden boxes for cooking . The Author really did a lot of research ..... seeing as I was also into the tv show Time Team at the time....
