Quicker drawing this time, and I don't have much to say for this one, just a catfolk warrior from my setting with a big, curved sword. From the very beginning I've always portrayed my kitties using falx-like weapon, mainly because I always thought they looked a bit like fangs or claws, so quite fitting for what I had in mind ^^
I've drawn this specific character once before, by the way https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36296194/
While looking at old art I felt like drawing this guy again. Not that he has a backstory or anything. XD

DAMMIT OF COURSE TWO PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY BEAT ME TO THE REFERENCE.
DX
*ahem*
Anyway, good work here, mate. I'm curious what he's looking at, as it looks like he's sizing up another target to slice, and it thus seems a bit premature to be wiping the blade, but I guess to each their own.

I love that you chose Falx styled weapons for the catfolk because they resemble teeth and claws. That makes perfect sense since most cultures use natural shapes for their weapons. The idea of a cat folk being inspired by their own natural teeth and claws and designing weapons on that basis fits perfectly and gives them their own unique look.
It's been a long time since I did any fencing and I won't claim I was much good at it. We worked (played) with foil, saber and epee. Bizarrely I never understood the downward curve until I used a tree pruner, the slicing rather than chopping action of the return stroke could inflict great damage particularly on an opponent whose armor or lack of armor exposes the inside of the elbow. You see people training in Ken-do use the same slicing technique although with a straight blade. I'm sure there are other techniques I am unaware of.
