Dragon Hunter's Challenge (2025 Tickletober Story 14)
For day 14, the prompt was Dragon.
With how intense the last two stories were, I decided to do something purely silly this time. My first idea was inspired by Drakloak's Dex entry from Pokemon Shield, which noted how it'll get anxious without a Dreepy to look after and will try to substitute it for other small Pokemon; I planned to write about a Drakloak befriending some small 'Mon and taking it on a flight - but soon realised I don't really know how to incorporate a tickling scene into it.
Instead I ended up with the story about a Ribombee trying to prove its worth as a dragon hunter... only to pick a... not exactly correct target.
...Look, I don't blame him. Can you imagine how hard it must be to correctly identify a Dragon Pokemon in a world without Bulbapedia?

This one's really wholesome! I do enjoy that Charizard was trying his best not to harm Ribombee despite his body reacting. And that Ribombee did manage to take out a fire-breathing dragon! Just not a dragon-type. However... A Bug-Fairy taking out a Fire-Flying is all the more impressive considering the type advantage, so perhaps there will be some celebration for that?
