This train station was built in 1864, during the war against the Triple Alliance. It is architecturally different from other train stations, as it is the only one in the country with two watchtowers, taking advantage of its height to observe the entire surrounding valley and mountain ranges (hills).

Esta estación de tren fue construida en 1864, en plena guerra de contra la triple alianza. se diferencia arquitectónicamente de las otras estaciones de tren, al ser la única del país con contar con dos torres vigias, aprovechando la altura para observar todo el valle circundante y las cordilleras (cerranias).
