This was an anniversary gift I did for my sister
tygurstar this year to mark her marriage to her mate

So.. yeah.. I don't like talking about all the imagery or meanings in poetry because it's up for interpretation. They symbols and events in this were mostly taken from details I knew about their relationship from Ty

October 30th
You know, dear, the night
sometimes forgets to tell me
‘sleep’ as you lay in my arms.
I don’t begrudge those hours,
when the world is a heartbeat
and the terracotta of your breath.
I lie memorising each smile,
[wondering where you are.]
Will you dream me there?
In shorts, tadpole fishing,
way back in photo albums.
Do you dream of camp?
That year before we wed,
promising to shooting stars.
Do you dream of tonight?
Or is it a next-Friday smile?
I wish the sun back down again,
so you can dream us another year.
But you stir, knowing somehow
that I was awake, still smiling:
your eyes shining like Tokyo.
