Introducing my latest OC, Sysmo! He is the successor to the forgotten MCM/70 computer. Here's his in-story biography:
MCM/80, or Sysmo as he refers to himself is an android who is the founder and sole owner of the Emerald Cafe in Lumiere City. The exact origins of MCM/80 are unclear. The following testimony is provide by MCM/80 himself.
The central computer that would later become MCM/80 was first built in 1975 in a joint effort by the Micro Computer Machines company (based in Toronto, Canada) and American-based electronics company Ampex Data Systems. In 1978 Micro Computer Machines ceased operations and the MCM/80 project was scrapped. All prototypes, of which an unknown number were made were destroyed except one. Following the company's closure, an employee with the nickname of 'Cutter' was granted permission to take home the sole remaining prototype system and the documentation surrounding the project.
From the late 70s to early 90s the employee continued to work on MCM/80 until August 5, 1998 when the machine gained sentience. MCM/80 is powered by APLOS (A Programming Language Operation System) and uses the SPARC (Scalable Processor ARChitecture) architecture. Beyond that his internals remain a mystery though he did confirm he has solar-power capabilities (which he refers to as a Cove Battery). This unique combination of technology makes MCM/80 the only known android to be powered by APL, one of the only androids to ever utilize the SPARC architecture (and currently the only active android) and arguably the earliest android to run off a RISC-adjacent architecture.
A gap in MCM/80's history is found here with it unclear what he did during 1998-2013. He claims he studied cooking, baking and etiquette during this time, educating himself in the art of hospitality. Cutter passed away in 2013 and according to MCM/80, left him a sizeable piece of his estate. Following Cutter's death he, with the support of Cutter's surviving family, departed Toronto and set up the Emerald Cafe in Lumiere City, where he currently resides.
In his spare time, MCM/80 plays the piano. He is an aficionado on classical composers from the early 1900s. His favourite composer is Erik Satie.
Expect to see Sysmo crop up in my pictures now and again. I have a lot planned with him.
I modeled everything in the image. The background is from old stock background CD.
