Well, there he is! The one and only Tigger!
The first sketch above is when Pooh met Tigger for the first time and wanted to have breakfast with him.
If you read the House at Pooh Corner (A. A. Milne, 1928), Tigger already said he doesn’t like honey. Nor does he like acorns (haycorns), thistles, and condensed milk. It was much later when Kanga was able to give Roo what she called Malt of Extract (which is some kind of fish oil). That stuff was meant to help with Roo’s strength in bouncing and he hates taking it (as mentioned in Winnie the Pooh, Chapter Seven). However, when Tigger tried it, he loved it.
That’s why Tigger is showing his approval of malt extract while Roo isn’t that interested in it.
And back in the chapter when Pooh and Tigger met, Tigger made this peculiar noise:
“Worraworraworraworraworra!”
Never heard such a peculiar sound. But hey! If that’s the noise Tigger makes, then I might as well use it for this sketch!
Oh, he was a fun character to draw alright. And I can see why Paul Winchell (original voice) and Jim Cummings loved playing as Tigger.
