Twelfth Hypnovember story of the 2025 season.
The client was VocaloidBRSFreak97 and the idea was a story with the Trigger prompt. In this case, Sayo asked for a story set in the Project X Zone world, where one character from the second game gets...well, affected by a trigger.

The world had finally gone quiet.
After the fall of Ouma and the collapse of the 101 Embryo Project, every dimension was finally safe. Nonetheless, this didn’t mean that Xiaomu, Reiji and other agents that were part of the organization known as Shinra didn’t have more work to do. The chaos that the evil group caused still affected the world as there were reports of some dimensional rifts in multiple locations.
Xiaomu and Reiji were selected to travel to one that appeared in a new place, a city whose construction was stopped after the last events. The cheerful gal and confident guy looked around, trying to find what was causing those anomalies, but after almost a full day walking and finding nothing, the duo was too tired to continue. They agreed to hand their superiors the information they got before making a stop on their temporary headquarters. Reiji was so tired that he didn’t even change his clothes, falling into the bed and quickly falling asleep. On the other hand, the blonde-haired gal wasn’t as tired as her partner, but still decided to lay down next to him.
Like many other agents, she was thinking about what Ouma caused and while it was a difficult time, she looked fondly at that moment as she worked together with one of her favorite persons in the world. She lost herself in her memories, thinking about how they felt after they defeated the evil organization, but she was interrupted by a strange sound coming from outside.
“I better investigate,” Xiaomu said under her breath, carefully leaving the bed to not wake Reiji up, who was so exhausted that the sound didn’t interrupt his sleep. Yes, it was a tiring day and both were too exhausted to continue, but the cheerful gal sensed that this could help her with her task. It sounded like a whistle, one that while calm and soothing, also sounded eerie. She couldn’t remember if one of the rifts or anomalies had the same sound, but she was set on finding the source one way or another.
She looked everywhere, checking each part of the zone and even going back in case she forgot to look at one place. After a couple of minutes, Xiaomu finally found where the source was coming from and she was so eager to find what it was that she ran as fast as she could…until she bumped into someone that her sole presence took her whole motivation away.
“What happened? You are acting like you just saw a ghost,” it was none other than Saya, a cunning and evil woman who not only was part of Ouma, but that the last time she was seen, she perished. Her presence was shocking and yet, Xiaomu didn’t waste any time by preparing to fight, putting herself in a battle position and waiting for Saya to make her move. “Oh, you still are the same. Just by what you did, I can tell that you are taking the fighting and planning route again. You just don’t learn, don’t you?”
“Shut up!” The blonde-haired gal said, annoyed by the comments of the agent of Ouma. She believed that she could take her down by herself and was prepared to fight, but what she didn’t know was that Saya already had a plan for how to defeat her and the only thing she needed to do was one phrase. She smiled, eyeing at her victim for a moment before pointing at her, prepared to use that special thing she prepared against the cheerful gal.
“Little Foxy One.”
Upon hearing those words, Xiaomu was overwhelmed by a strange yet nice feeling. Suddenly, the idea of enjoying this came through her mind, but she tried her best not to let that take over her as she felt this could go against her. “Wh-what did…did you…do?” The blonde-haired gal was having a hard time with her words and any attempt at making a simple phrase went nowhere. This was just the reaction that the sinister woman expected to see and with her victim with her guard down, Saya used that opportunity to take control over the situation...and Xiaomu
“What’s that? Are you confused about what is happening? Is that it? Poor Xiaomu, you really have no idea what caused this, don’t you?” She chuckled softly, enjoying the sight of her enemy struggling. She did go against other enemies, but Reiji was a special case, being someone she knew from before she was part of the defense organization and also one that was responsible for Ouma’s defeat. Saya also considered not telling the truth to her victim, but feeling confident that she had no chances against her, the sinister woman decided to reveal everything just to make this more enjoyable for her…and worse for Reiji of course. “Do you remember that Werefox Charm Spell?”
If the phrase didn’t have such a big effect on her, she would have attacked her or even run away. Saya didn’t need to say more, Xiaomu knew what this was, aware that the spell she was talking about was the same one Saya used to make her kill Reiji's father. There were a multitude of things the blonde-haired gal didn’t want to happen and one was letting the agent of Ouma triumph. “Y-you...you won’t…”
“Won’t win? Is that what you are trying to say? Oh, sorry to disappoint you, but by the way things are going, it seems that the one who won’t win tonight will be you,” Saya continued mocking her enemy, repeating that she had no chances against her or the trigger. Her confidence for this wasn’t just related to how she looked at herself and her own plans, this was related to something bigger. “This is not the first time I used this on you. You’ve been my little sleeper agent a lot of times. All I had to do was think of a phrase that would resonate with you and all I did was change the way I used to call you. Don’t you remember, little one?”
She did and sadly, because of that, she was growing more and more desperate. Xiaomu tried the best she could to break free from that trigger, but the comments of the sinister woman and how those ideas started to take over her made it very difficult for her to resist. Soon, she started to think about the idea of serving Saya, to do everything she told her and to be a good servant.
“You are doing good, little one. Go deeper for me, if you please. Let this take you and accept this as the one thing you desire,” Xiaomu already gave up with her attempts at ignoring what Saya was telling her. No, trying to fight back and not listening to her felt bad, sacrilegious even and the last thing she was thinking about was to go against this. “Yes, relax and accept this, that you serve me and that you love your dear mistress.”
She was ready, accepting her fate and ready to help her mistress cause more chaos and destruction instead of stopping it. After thinking about the encounter one last time, and hearing the evil woman repeat the trigger again, the blonde-haired gal finally reached the deepest point. Her glazing eyes and how she stood still was all that Saya needed to see that she won this match and that her reward was using her enemy however she pleased.
“The only thing I would change about this was if you submitted earlier, I just don’t like to wait, but I’m a generous person and I’ll let it slide this time,” Xiaomu was putty in her hand, someone that was reduced to a mindless puppet that would do anything she commanded. Ever since her defeat, the sinister woman was thinking about not only taking revenge on the ones that defeated the organization, but also planning to succeed this time. “Now, are you ready to help your mistress and make Ouma rise from the ashes?
“Yes, my mistress. Anything you say,” the blonde-haired gal said in a calm yet mindless tone, accepting her status and ready to prove to her mistress that she still was a good servant. This didn’t change how Saya looked at Xiaomu, for her, she still was the small and weak mage that wasn’t at the same level as her and the fact that she was under her control just enhanced that idea.
Xiaomu believed that after Ouma’s defeat, everything was going back to normal. At first, it seemed that was the case as Reiji, her and other agents were continuing with their own tasks, but that night, the blonde-haired gal discovered that there was more. Not only the sinister woman she believed perished came back, but she also revealed and used a trigger that turned her into her loyal puppet. She was powerless now and while that looked bad, the only thing that she considered important was to serve, obey.
And assist her mistress with her plans.
