A Silvamancer Christmas (Mistigris Advent 2025)

<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>After I drew my first four screens for the calendar, I had the idea of bringing back my Silvamancer from Revision 2025 and having him grow a Christmas tree with his magic. Naturally, with the original image spanning 80x75 characters, I had to simplify the design in order to squeeze him into an 80x25 screen. Although I succeeded in translating the design, it didn't fully click for me until I decided to take his top off. Silly as it may sound, that helped me jump the hurdle to drawing the tree exploding from the ground, and from there the night sky, the silhouette trees, and finally the magical trail.
As November went on and others made their marks on the calendar, I slotted this one after Zeus II's startling drawing of a snowman shot through the head, bringing us back to (comparative) levity with a different image of something blasting through snow. In the BBS version, this marks his second appearance in the calendar after the splash screen.
