To celebrate reaching 1,000 Watchers on DeviantArt, I'm gonna draw the Starter Pokémon from Gen 2 to Gen 9 (because I've already drawn the Gen 1 Starters for my Pokédex series).
The underbrush rustled as several figures made their way into a forest clearing. Louise T., now a Sceptile, was accompanied by Jason and their children. Caleb, the oldest, was climbing a nearby tree with one of his sisters, Felicia; the middle two, Garrett and Thelma, were carrying a large bowl-shaped leaf filled with water; the youngest child, Nicholas, rode atop his father's back; and their five upcoming eggs sat snugly in Louise's distended womb, weighing down her every waddle.
They all stopped in front of a small sapling, and the two holding the leaf quickly got to work watering it.
"(Thank you, again, for helping me with my gardening,)" Louise huffed, readjusting her stance to accommodate for the extra weight.
"(Of course,)" Jason smiled. "(We're happy to help, especially in your encumbered state.)"
"(How long will they be, again?)" Felicia bemoaned.
"(Just over three months,)" Louise giggled at her oldest daughter's impatience.
"(I can't wait!)" Caleb exclaimed, resting on his belly atop the branch. "(Our restaurant game's been needing more players, and you've got five of them!)"
"(Do you think any of them will be Shiny like me?)" Garrett asked as they finished watering the plant.
Jason shrugged, "(Who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us like you did.)"
Louise took the leaf from her children and drew a short sip of the water. Right after she finished, she was startled by a sudden movement from one of the eggs. "(Oh, moving! One of them's moving!)"
She sat down as all six of the others quickly gathered around to take turns feeling her belly. The four youngest kids' eyes were filled with awe and wonder; Caleb, having already experienced one of his mother's pregnancies, was more focused on imagining what they'd do together after they were born; and Jason was starting lovingly into Louise's eyes.
Eventually, the egg settled down again. Louise handed the leaf back to the kids, and they continued their routine.
From Pokémon Emerald: "Sceptile has seeds growing on its back. They are said to be bursting with nutrients that revitalize trees. This Pokémon raises the trees in a forest with loving care."
The finale of this short story about Louise!
