Did you know a Cuvier's beaked whale once held its breath for 222 minutes? Blubby was certainly surprised to learn that! He'd never heard of anyone being able to get anywhere NEAR his breath holding ability, but apparently they could get well over halfway there... He decided he needed to meet one and see for himself.
Of course, the ocean is a big place, so it took some time. Simply searching would be hopeless, so he asked some aquatic friends to help him out. And, after a few days, Blubby finally got to meet a Cuvier's beaked whale! Prideful as the whale was in his breath holding ability, he refused to believe that anyone - much less someone non-aquatic - could ever beat him, and the two agreed to what was likely going to be the longest breath holding contest either of them would ever take part in.
Minutes turned to hours as the two stayed as relaxed as possible, discomfort building in each one's chest as a blue tint was slowly creeping up Blubby's horns... At this point, 3 and a half hours have passed. The whale shivers as he fights to hold his breath, his face having gone entirely blue, while Blubby is only just under enough strain for it to be visible. Still, the whale seems determined to continue... Blubby's probably going to have to give them a bubble to breathe once they run out, he can tell they're not going to give up.
