Beneath soft lights and winter’s glow,
Two cups of warmth, the world slowed low.
No need for words, no need to explain-
Just two friends enjoying some quality time together.
A year survived, both scarred and strong,
Some nights felt endless, some days too long.
But here they stand, unbroken still,
Wrapped in red and quiet will.
If tomorrow comes with change or pain,
Tonight is simple.
Two friends: still here, still warm.

Because sometimes spending time and talking with your friend is enough. No going out, "hanging out," or trying to find something to do...
Just being together and in each others company. At least for me that is. As I get older, I appreciate people I can be in their company without "small talk" or feeling like we have to go out in order to have a good time. If you don't have a friend like that, you might need to reevaluate your friend circle [just saying].
