Illustration for the artbook "Indian Mythology" by ARTMIF. Character — Ashwatthama.
Ashwatthama was a general of the Kauravas, a brave warrior who, at the end of the battle, consumed by grief and rage over the loss of his kin, strayed from the kshatriya code of honor. According to the legend, he treacherously killed the Pandavas' children and many thousands of ordinary soldiers by attacking them while they slept. Shri Krishna condemned him to eternal life.
Because of the curse, Ashwatthama could not die and lived for six thousand years. During that time he suffered from wounds and ulcers received in the battle on the field of Kuru that would not heal and bled.
I had long wanted to draw something for Artmif, and I’m very happy the chance finally came 💃🔥 I got an awesome character who fit perfectly into my darkening style 😅💪
P.S. By the way, happy New Year!! ❤️🥳✨
