Found this digging for Scraps. So, "Waiting and watching printers?" Sounds almost like the other end of my job.

I used to work at a print shop, as a mix of designer, press worker, photographer, engineer, printer repair personnel, IT support and part-time boss. And that was just while I was getting my education!

Nice -- I'd love to have a 'buffet' job like that. My first real job was as an AV tech for my former middle school. An average night might consist of videotaping a documentary (yeah, open-reel, back before VCRs and digital timers), cleaning and adjusting tape recorders, and fixing film strip projectors the little monsters broke during the week. Today I write and maintain the programs that print personalized insurance policies, but after two dozen years of pretty much the same thing, I'm thinking it might be interesting to write (or something) before I retire. I'm spending a lot of time at work twiddling my thumbs, lately.
