The Stars shining bright in the deep inky blackness of her mane, both obscuring and providing a view through the 'light bloom' from all the street and building lights of Canterlot to the unhindered sky of her night.. It's like looking back in time through her, clarity in a nebula.
The coloring is really moody. The lights from the surrounding parapets really work with the way the clouds wreathe the moon. Combine -that- with the seemingly never-moving stars in her hair, and it gives me the feeling that there's a much more sinister nature still barely contained in the princess.
