For a while now I've missed doing traditional art. Yeah, it's expensive, yeah it can be a huge frustrating mess, but it's a much more open, zen activity than drawing facing a computer screen. So, I picked up a new set of Prisma markers!
They just arrived today, and as I thought to myself "Hm, what should I draw for practice?" I looked up from where I set my markers down, saw my little Gabumon family of toys, and got to work.
I love these guys so much. I'm not entirely sure why, as I'm not usually one for canine-critters, but just something about them is so fun and memorable. Even if Weregarurumon was the biggest pain in the ass to draw.

"Canine critters" can be awesome, although even I would generally say that made up canid species are better than ACTUAL canines. XD;
But OMG. This is great. So...bold? Okay, I'm not sure exactly what words I'm going for here, but it's still definitely recognizeable as your art despite being done in a different medium. ALSO THAT BIG ONE IN THE BACK KEEPS MAKING ME SMILE (sorry I don't know Digimon AAA).

This is so adorable, I love the tiny bit of drool on Garurumon's tongue and Gabumon's expression most of all!
Seconding (thirding, fourthing) what someone said about the vibrancy of your marker work- I totally thought it was digital at first!
(I guess technically it is digital, just in subject matter not media hur hur hur :B)

So... I just spent an entire 12+ hours overnight watching the first fourty or so episodes of Digimon on Netflix with my roommates... And I've come to the conclusion that Gabumon and his various levels of digievolution are the best of all! Even if I wasn't a furry or a huge canine fan, there's something just so awesome about all these characters! Punimon, definitely cute. Tsunomon, even more cute, and the only one of the digimon at this level that actually had fur, which would totally make him fun to pet. Gabumon is just... erhmahgerhd, he's just SO FRIGGIN CUTE! The way he speaks, the way he acts, the way he looks, AAAAAH~ Every time he's on the screen I squee a little inside, and any time he looked sad or shy I just wanted to reach through my TV and grab him, hold him, and tell him it's gonna be alright. His pelt is so neat, and it looks so cool on him. I'd give anything for a life-size Gabumon plushie to cuddle with at night. :D Garurumon probably falls under the same category as my favorite pokemon, Arcanine: GIANT CANINE YOU CAN RIDE. What the hell is there not to love? Weregarurumon is tiny compared to the other fully-evolved Digimon, but that's why I like him! He's not this towering skyscraper sized monster, he's actually decently sized and not overwhelmingly enormous (also making him good for cuddles too!). My only misgiving about Weregarurumon is that he loses his tail after digievolving from Garurumon. There's also Metalgarurumon, who's just a total badass, 'nuff said. <3
Haha, sorry for gushing, but I've found a new obsession in Gabu and his family ^////^ And your drawing here captures his many forms amazingly! Easily one of the best pieces of fanart on the site!
