Apologies for the delay, but it was a bit harder to get a picture of the elusive Fenrir than originally imagined. Here's the interview our own
wolfflax was able to get from the freshly fed wolf.
What got you interested in drawing? How long have you been at it?
Drawing came to me as a form of self expression. When I learned about furries around when I was 13, I realized these people made up and drew their own unique characters. I wanted to be apart of that; to show my own creative side, which was pretty well founded in science fiction and the like. And so, I picked up drawing, and through the support of the friends I had made, I refined it into the style you see today. All in all, it's been a fun 6 year trip, and I don't see the end in sight. Just the way I like it. *winks*
Are there any artists you look to for inspiration?
None, really. I sorta forged my own style by myself, and kept improving it over the years in my own solitary way. The only thing I really take cues from now are from hundreds of other vore artists, and it all comes down to how the pred's belly is drawn. Always trying to make it more and more pleasing to the viewer, y'know?
What would you say is the thing you've most improved on since you started drawing?
BELLIES. Oh yes, bellies. And with that, Anatomy in general. Most artists I see use that bubble-stick figure trick to draw proportions and such. I don't actually use that method; I used to, but I grew so used to the human form, specifically the male form, that I could just freehand it all the way, as I do now. The only time I do use it is when trying to make detailed bellies, so I can get the right stretch marks, hills and valleys in the flesh, etc. I think it really makes a difference!
You have a very detailed backstory for Fenrir. Do you also like to write? Are you into fantasy literature at all?
I do enjoy writing, but I am by no means a competent wordsmith. I believe that character depth is important; the why is more than the how, simply put. Yeah, Fenrir's awesome, and can do all this crazy stuff like eat people, but WHY does he do it? That to me, is just as, if not more important. I love flavor text, too. For example, Magic the Gathering has a little bit of text on each card to show a tiny sliver of lore behind the card, and why it can do what it does. It's the little things like that which drive me to make knowing Fenrir similar to watching a great movie, or watching a sweet TV series, or reading a good novel. Every picture has a story behind it.
Where did the idea for Fenrir come from? How did you decide on a wolf?
A long while ago, I wasn't a wolf; I was a Fox-Wolf hybrid, living on DeviantART. But, as I discovered how much I loved vore, I made an account here on FA. Something simple, to draw my odd fetish without confusing my other friends on dA. It eventually became who I am as a person, and the old account sort of died, as did the old fursonas. Eventually, I crafted an entire story behind Fenrir as I did with my old fursona, and it grew into what you know today as the Equinox Wolf. Oh, and I chose a wolf because I've always had a fond connection with canines in general; they're AWESOME.
You're almost exclusively a predator. Do you ever have problems dealing with other predators? How do you handle it?
Ahhh, very good question. I realize this is something of a touchy subject for some preds, but I can answer it in two words: Predatory Equality. You eat me, I eat you. Simple as that. To elaborate a bit more, I believe in the concept that every predator is equal. There are no 'Kings' or 'Top Predators' or anything silly like that to me. Every predator is equal in my eyes, regardless of how much you can eat, or how much you have eaten, or other useless statistics like that. I mean, really. You don't hear drama over prey saying they're the best, so why can't predators be like that? Me, I'll just grab my Bag of Infinite Prey, and stuff the other pred until they're satisfied, then have some snacks myself, and spend the rest of the time admiring each other's guts, administering tummy rubs and other such things. Isn't that what being a pred is all about? Having a huge gut, and enjoying your meal? Leave that superiority junk at the door.
Do you prefer your prey willing or unwilling?
I love unwilling prey, because I love power trips; not ashamed to say it either. I love the concept of a prey desperately trying to cling to life, only to have it snapped shut in front of them as the jaws of the predator close around their only salvation, leaving a satisfied predator with their prize squirming around in front of them, letting their hard work and effort pay off as their belly digests their new meal. Willing is also fun too, since it's also a sensual experience, especially when done with close friends. <3
What other interests do you have, outside of art?
Video games. Not just playing them, but the advancement of them as an art form. Video games are our future, like it or not. And I intend to be a video game designer, so I can be on the forefront of this entertainment style, pioneering new ways to entertain like no one has ever done before. Also, I wanna make a vore game that doesn't stink. XD
Vore seems like an obvious sort of subject for a video game, but it also seems to be difficult to do well. What do you think is the problem with most vore games? How do you think it can be fixed?
The thing about vore video games is that they focus too much on the combat or RPG aspect of the game when they really should be focusing on the enjoyment of the fetish itself. Focusing on the conflict created by vore isn't the way to go. You can't enjoy your meal in the middle of a warzone, or trying to adventure across a huge grassland hauling several unlucky bandits in your belly. The key part here is knowing exactly what genre of video game the vore fetish itself fits into, and social simulator games like the Sims is perfect for such a thing. You can chat with people, enjoy each others company, then eat them when you're done (or get eaten, if you prefer). Then, that leaves you open to relax and digest them, or try and see if you can snag another meal by the end of the day. Then sleep it off, and get ready for the next day, working off the fat or showing it off to others. It doesn't have to be a massive adventure across hundreds of memorable landscapes that spans the entire life of the adventurer. It can just be in a dorm room on an idle Tuesday. To make it simpler, think about vore the same way as having sex. It's an intimate, physically draining experience. Craft a game with that mentality, and replace the sex with vore, and BOOM! Competent vore video game. I'd be working on it now, if I had some help. xD
What's better, foxes or otters?
Have to go with Foxes. Raphy wouldn't forgive me if I said otherwise! (Yes, Raphy is real, but not in the way you'd expect. xD)

Also this makes me love you even more Fen, we share alot of the same ideals and likes with vore, not that I doubted we didnt. ^^ And I was really excited to hear you trying to make a vore game. I really hope I play a good proper well made and thought of vore game like that in my lifetime, something like the sims indeed seems perfect, casual slow gameplay, paced as fast and slow as you like, simulating your characters vore fanatasy world and what they do and what they eat... or are eaten by. ^^ having multiplayer on it of course would be another amazing idea! I mean the idea and build of the vore game is thought of alot it seems... but untouched as far as anyone can see making a full game for it. =/
Lets see where time takes us~ maybe ill even have a part of making the game myself as I strive to become a games dev as well and just so happen to bump into someone making the game. ^^
