Your story of triumph really touched my heart... I'm very curious to see how this turns out! I'm also very excited to see this touch not just the furry fandom [which, I think, tends to overwhelm the overall subject at times], but other mediums as well!
On a side note, it's be interesting to see you if you go to Michigan this year! [I plan on attending FCN, as well]

IMO Anthropomorphizing is has been a way for western cultures to differentiate itself from eastern cultures who often use animals for food and sacrifice. By western cultures associating the human like qualities with animals it has made generations see animals as equals rather then lower species.
It's a way to get westerners to value life more, whither it be animal or human life. It helped civilize us.

The answer to why people like anthropomorphism seems quite simple, to me. On the furry side, we natually like animals (at least as kids) and we see parts of ourselves in the behavior of animals. It is only natural to make them more human in our imagination, stories, and culture. Some cultures over time have even elevated them to god status. As far as anything else goes, if we like it (or fear it) we anthropomorphise it. Its just that simple, in my mind.
Anyway, I like seeing this kind of stuff. Seems different. Focused on why we as a species like anthropomorphism of all kinds, and not just about furries. Good luck with your project

Yeah, the ads have been running, but there are so many ads running right now, the odds of mine popping up are slim.
FA donated the ad campaign to us free of charge (and they will be rewarded) as their contribution to the film.
If not for them, we wouldn't even be where we are now.

As with many independent documentaries, ours will not be coming to any major cinema. It will be available online to those that have donated first, and then afterward to the general public through ad-supported streaming and pay download. Shooting begins in a week (at F3 con in Springfield) and the film is scheduled to be available to those who donated near the end of 2013.
