I decided to take a few old characters I've had for sometime but never really showed anyone and give them an updated look.
This character was originally designed to be an npc for a rpg, but the rpg never happened, so I was essentially stuck with the character with nothing really to do with.
Over time though I had started playing around with ideas for him, from being a simple mercenary to a burmecian "guinea pig" in a Final Fantasy-inspired story. However he really didn't come into his own until I started playing around with another character idea, and when I saw how similar she was turning out to be with him, things clicked. I gave him the name Rivennor, an old name for a story that never happened.
Rivennor's only family was his sister, however they both suffered by being unjustly enslaved when they were young. However, Rivennor was able to get free rather easily and had mad a living off of being an adventurer or mercenary at a fairly young age until he found out where his sister was. However he would still have trouble when he realized the group his former 'masters' served were sent to bring him back. Rivennor was meant to serve as a test subject by the insane group, but he was able to stay ahead of them, and now he and his sister are on the run to regain their freedom, one way or another.
Rivennor is more of the street-wise, easy-going character, but he does take his work seriously and is a determined individual.
Rivennor's design changed very little in this update, and I'm fine with that, the simple look works well for him I think.
Photoshop CS3.
Rivennor and art are mine.
