The Harp relaxes in her private study with a favorite book and a pot of tea, accompanied by her companion dove, Hadi. The Harp is mostly blind, but she can get around well enough on her own in familiar places. She can read with the aid of a magnifying glass, which is one of favorite activities to give her voice a rest and be away from others for a while. Hadi is one of her constant companions, he is her guide when she needs it. Hadi flies ahead holding highly visible red ribbons in his feet, so that The Harp can see and knows where to go. If they needed to get home from very far away without help, Hadi’s navigation skills as a dove would be valuable.

That would be so amazing! I would love to hear more about the harp, I'm actually doodling her right now :3 I was wondering, and I hope I'm not being too forward, but what are your thoughts on maybe letting people create their own Alecani one day? I'm totally content just doing fanatic of your own characters but I am curious to what could happen if I could make one of my own one day
I'm totally up for it, but only after I'm done developing them I think. I'm still working out the cultural details, and what each tribe from different regions would look like. I plan on uploading a full species profile, and examples of each tribe one day so that people can make Alecani characters of their own.
That totally makes sense. You have such a gorgeous species and world on your hands. I've seen so many species beautifully designed and then the world and culture is lacking. You and your Alecani aren't like that and my word they can only get better. I know I say this a lot but I can't wait to see what happens :3
Btw have I mentioned how insanely awesome you are? ;) cuz you are

haha you're so welcome! <3 I definitely agree. I've been itching to create my own species/world for years, but I can't come up with anything I'm in love with, but you, mick39, Vera, and Lungle here on FA are huge sources for inspiration for me, both for worldbuilding and for art :)
It's mentioned that she's -mostly- blind rather than completely blind, which means things like large print and bright colors would be visible to her, but fine details and many other things might be difficult at best. [One of my cats is functionally blind, which is why I'm as familiar with this condition at all!]
My friend has ever really let it get her down, it's not such a detriment that she has to live very differently than most folks, you know? She does need the magnifier to read, and can't ever legally drive since it's too dangerous, but she lives in a city where public transit is pretty efficient. It doesn't stop her from doing anything else, really!
I really adore the warm late afternoon/early evening feeling created by the light and reds in this image. Your attention to detail is fantastic as well. The dove's chest feathers, the gold details on the teapot and cup, the tufts of fur and the folds in the cushion... whew! There's so much to look at here that it creates a rich sense of actually being there. Seriously beautiful work.
