Secret Santa I participated in on DA. Don't know if the person I got is on this site but since this is the first picture I've actually 'finished' in quite a while I figured I'd submit here too. WHY NOT.
On one hand, my new tablet makes doing backgrounds a whole lot easier and more enjoyable. On the other hand, they still take ages and make me want to rip off my fingers at time. C'est la vie.

This is absolutely gorgeous and I can't believe any of the 34 favouriters before me didn't think to say anything! The lighting on the fur, snow, and even around the pine needles is absolutely insane/magestic and beautiful, and the snow looks completely real. That is one lucky secret santa recipient!
Gorgeous. ;w; Though you say it was a pain to make, that background is stunning. Almost like a photograph and yet true to a more painted style so that it doesn't look off when put with the subject. Backgrounds are the bane of my existence so...this blows my mind. Haha xD Wonderful job <3 Great to see you posting something.

The best part is as soon as I saw it, I was all, "Hey, I've seen this on Tumblr a lot. IKNOWTHATBACKGROUND." It's wonderful seeing how you adapted it to your own work, very beautiful. Anyway, I'm pumped. When you're open next for commissions... Gah. Must. Cash in your face, just sayin'.

I love the playful expression of the fox, I am speachless with the sparkling crunchiness of the snow, and enchanted with soft warm light giving you the perfect contrast to the overall wintery cold atmosphere.
