Once, I had a strange little friend. I don't think he really had any concept of danger. despite his lamentable comparative frailty, and often I was required to extricate him from dangerous situations he had placed himself in.

Ultimately, however, I think that us knowing each other turned out for the better. During the day, he apparently kept watch over me whilst I slept, and at night, I kept him from getting into too much trouble.

Unlike many birds, I do not believe he ever defecated on my shoulders either.
