Call me Furby, any pronouns. My random dump blog, including politics! personal tag is 'the rat has spoken' and most stuff is queued nowadays. block 'tmagp spoilers' if you don't want Magnus Protocol spoilers

Wacky-internet-rollercoaster -> furbys-bitsnbobs

I hated that previous name for a while so I finally changed it 😭😭. My screen name has unofficially been Furby for a while because of my Discord name, but I figured I might make it a more official screen name and finally change this blog url!

estrogen is clearly a top 10 molecule simply for making transfems so cute. it’s still getting beaten by h2o but it’s close.

Caffeine, progesterone and MSG are all in the top 5 btw

Not gonna lie, the apps seem like a bit of a red flag to me. “Yes just put your location into our friendly little app, that’ll keep you safe from ICE and DEEEEEEFINITELY won’t bring them directly to you 😇”

But maybe I’m wrong. Maybe there’s a ton of help available. Chat, you got anything?

iceout.org is probably what you're looking for! It uses both locally-reported and crowdsourced data to show ICE activity and its severity. Since it's used to mark where ICE has been, it shouldn't risk exposing one's own location to them.

That helps a great deal- thank you!!

I've always said that the anti-vaxx movement was never about "oh we have legitimate concerns about the manufacturing of this specific COVID vaccine and I would appreciate further clarification on how it works, please" but they are against ALL vaccines and by extension, medicine in general. Whatever they are because of new-age "natural" fallacies, misinformation, or "bill gates is microchiping us" conspiracy theories, it should be approached as that. You shouldn't get in the minutiae of what RNA is or debunking a paper that has been debunked a hundred times over now, we should address WHY they are against vaccination and medicine in particular.

I think it's better to convince and educate people but we shouldn't treat people who openly spread propaganda about it just as harmless live and let live opinions, they are perhaps the biggest hazard to public health worldwide right now.

you'll spend so long in deep discussions of gender online and then go talk to someone in your real life family and find out they still havent gotten past "women can be good at things" and its like oh okay jesus christ i forgot some people are still on the baby steps huh

Yeah. It’s crazy.

If you see the quote "I refuse to share my body with a man who wouldn't defend it politically" or any variation of it floating around the internet — it was Kat Blaque who originally said it and she would really appreciate it if people gave her proper credit for it but it's gone viral on a lot of different platforms and most of the people sharing it don't know it's from her or choose not to credit her on purpose.

Like I just know terfs are going to be parroting it pretending it wasn't said by a black trans woman about herself & her life.

one of the most vital internet tips i received when i was a kid was how to recognise rage bait trolls. aggressively annoying users who constantly posted garbage so off putting that you'd feel like you have no option but to respond. they'd puff themselves up when people blocked them but would also create a fuss when they lost access to people they were trying to bait. their literal purpose was just that someone, anyone would respond to them. these people have not left fandom spaces, in fact they've gotten smarter, but i think we've forgotten how to spot them. and that the only thing that works against these rancid trolls is to block them and just disengage. let them throw hissy fits, let them tag all their boorish nonsense, cut off their supply of constant angry circle jerking, and eventually they'll get tired and move on.

”getting thicker skin” is great in theory but I think for some people “get better at handling your thin skin” is gonna be way more helpful advice. I have strong emotional reactions to criticism and they might never go away, but i can continue to try and handle each situation maturely and that’s the important part. Sometimes irrational feelings are chronic and living with them is better than trying to beat yourself up into not having them.

This is great advice because it still recognizes that "handle the situation maturely" still needs to be the endgame.

Might fuck around and paper my town with these. Feel free to join me.

Would you be willing to post the files for these so we can have the best quality copy for printing purposes?

Here's a folder with the files! I couldn't get the last one to PDF correctly with the image, so it's still text.

Just a reminder from me (a military brat) and my parents (both military from military families): The most definitive way to know a recruiter is lying to you is to listen closely to what they're saying. If you hear sounds, they're lying.
