Welcome to the official development blog of Galactic Tomorrow.

  • Galactic Tomorrow is an indie sci-fi game set in a space faring future. Players can explore space, mine asteroids, fight pirates, and so much more.

    The game is being developed in Gamemaker 2 with artwork done in Clip Studio Paint.

    Galactic Tomorrow is being developed by a small team led by BlueBoxBeagle and currently has no planned release date.

  • First devlog of the new year!

  • 12/1/25 - 12/22/25 game development log

    • Added new items that spawn in the Ship Graveyard area
    • Scrap panels and wires can occasionally spawn when space mines explode
  • 11/18/25 - 11/30/25 game development log

    • Updated all the sprites for Pluto, Charon, Hydra, Kerberos, Styx, and Nix
    • Added scan text to Pluto, Charon, Hydra, Kerberos, Styx, and Nix

    • Made the mini-map larger
    • Updated the size of some mini-map icons to match
    • Space mines don’t show up on the mini-map
    • Once scanned space mines have a warning mini-map icon
    • Some code clean up to reduce lag

    • Ship shields will slowly repair when the player is in a hydrogen cloud once the hydrogen tank is full
    • Targeted laser blasts now use more energy than non targeted ones
      (This only applies if the laser blast has a target)
    • The laser blast setting is now set to targeted by default
    • The scanner display setting is now set to fixed by default
    • Ruined ships now change direction and spin faster when hit by a laser blast

    • Friendly NPCs now fight back when attacked
    • Friendly NPCs use targeted laser blasts
    • Pirates use normal laser blasts
    • Ruined ship map icons now only show on “Scanner Icons: All”
    • Dead space cow icons are upside down
