We're done the songs tournament so now it's random bonus tournaments instead. (Not exactly active right now but hopefully again at some point? I'll reply to any asks etc. still; I'm still on the site just not so much this blog.)

THIRD ROUND: 15th Tilt

Legolas Greenleaf, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003) VS. King Richard, Galavant (2015-2016)

Propaganda

Legolas Greenleaf, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003) Portrayed by: Orlando Bloom Defeated Opponents: - Shah Ala Ad Daula [Olivier Martinez], The Physician (2013) - Balian de Ibelin [Orlando Bloom], Kingdom of Heaven (2005) - Fili [Dean O’Gorman], The Hobbit Trilogy (2012-2014)

Additional Propaganda Under the Cut

The man who super-believes in Tad Cooper deserves more confidence from the electorate.

Also, consider how mad Roberta (Bobbie) would be at this disrespect for her weird man.

Round 4

Propaganda for Isabella:

  • She is trustworthy and able to travel well and achieve her goals, she could get to Mordor. I don't think very much could tempt her other than securing her kingdom back for her parents.
  • Isabella would be so bad at it. She's boromir. She wants to protect her country her people her family; that's why she starts out lying to galavant. The ring would have such an easy time corrupting her.

Propaganda for Roberta:

  • She's strong and gets things done and is good at travelling and making friends so the getting-into-Mordor-and-befriending-Gollum bits are simple. She also doesn't seem to aspire to much in life, happy to just help others and have a nice time, so tempting her would be hard.

Congratulations to Roberta for being the most likely to deliver the One Ring to Mount Doom!

Suggestion for next tournament: most likely to escape from Dracula's Castle?

Avatar

It could be fun but I don't think it's really related to the show enough; Game of Thrones and LOTR are parodied or referenced a few times in the show so there's that connection but I can't think of anything to Dracula. If you have any interest in running it though feel free and I'll reblog something to let people know about it!

Propaganda for Galavant:

  • Could gain Gollum's trust and could definitely do the work to get to Mount Doom. Wants a pretty simple life, so wouldn't be the easiest to tempt.

Round 3

Propaganda for Sid:

  • Sid would make it to Mount Doom for sure. He has Samwise Gamgee energy
  • Sid is competent and has lots of friends and is good at sneaking about (see: time he was lost for several episodes while solving all kinds of problems behind the scenes for everyone). He wants recognition and to be a knight but isn't blinded by ambition ever. Probably the ring would be able to tempt him but it would be hard.

Round 2

Propaganda for Isabella:

  • She is trustworthy and able to travel well and achieve her goals, she could get to Mordor. I don't think very much could tempt her other than securing her kingdom back for her parents.

Propaganda for Gwynne:

  • Could probably get Gollum to help her since she's charming. Likely resourceful enough for sneaky travelling. Could maybe be tempted by the death of aristocracy but generally her wants in life are so low-key that she'd be hard to tempt.

As hard as I was gunning for Gwynne last tournament, I'm gonna give some anti-Gwynne propaganda this time. Gwynne doesn't necessarily want power or riches. However, she does have a lot of anger. And what she does want is revenge. Nothing could be easier for the ring to tempt. The time her mistress slapped her for not getting her hair right? The ring would whisper about how great it would be to slap back. And with it, she'd be safe from repercussions. She could kill those who hurt her.

And once you go down that path? There's always another enemy. Someone else who you should get rid of before they can hurt you. And that? That would be so, so tempting to Gwynne who has had to fight for every small kindness or good thing she has ever had in her life.

But, let's make it even.

Isabella isn't making it either. Her ambitions are noble. She wants her country to be free. And that is Boromir's story. We know how it ends. She'd try and grab the ring and use it's power to crush those who'd take over her kingdom and subjugate her family. Richard wouldn't stand a chance against her with that power on her side. He'd regret ever setting eyes on Vilencia.

She'd swoop in and free her parents. Free her people. They'd go back to telling stories under the tree. And any who stood in her way would be destroyed.

Round 2

Propaganda for Gareth:

  • Might be hard to gain the trust of Gollum but he could do the rest of the work to get to Mordor. Could be tempted with women or the promise of a war.

Propaganda for Galavant:

  • Could gain Gollum's trust and could definitely do the work to get to Mount Doom. Wants a pretty simple life, so wouldn't be the easiest to tempt.

Propaganda for Tad Cooper:

  • In bearded dragon form he could maybe be smuggled into Mordor by a buddy but Richard's not the most capable man. As a dragon he could just fly in, stealth and need for directions be damned. Dragons in Middle Earth are notoriously difficult to kill so he wouldn't be in much danger. As a dragon though he probably couldn't carry the ring unless he could carry someone on his back and they carry the ring. He doesn't seem to want much from life though other than to look out for loved ones so tempting him would be hard.
