this will probably be presented as evidence in a court case

INDEX of my doings and goings on, and various shenanigans and adjacent...

"I need to stop starting fandom projects so I stop disappointing people."

  • it's okay to disappoint people
  • it's okay to work slowly
  • it's okay to let yourself rest
  • it's okay to drop projects

Stop treating yourself like you are the workers at a fast food franchise.

Your writing is a hobby, don't let it turn into a source of guilt, shame and frustration instead of a source of joy.

I hope all artists in every fandom will adopt this mind set too.

😊 Please don't push yourselves too much or too often. Fandoms and creating fanarts are supposed to give you joy, not burdens.

Stiles *watching Derek, with salt-and-pepper in his hair and beard, wearing glasses, a cardigan, and fuzzy socks while drinking tea and reading a book*: I'm gonna fuck that old man.

Scott: He's not an old man.

Stiles: Look at him. He's got one foot in the grave.

Scott: He's three years older than us.

Stiles: He's lived such a long life. I hope I can make him happy in his final days.

Derek: You know I can hear you, right?

Stiles: His hearing is still so sharp. 🥹

people will insist humans are naturally selfish when feeding the birds is a common hobby. when there are wildlife hospitals you can call when you find an injured fox outside. do we get anything from helping wild animals? i don't think so. it's not personal. it's just nice. it's something we have the resources to do, so we do it. i think thats worth remembering.

It's selfish because I want bird more than bread. Not that complicated.

great that was easy mode. now explain how you fit people who throw themselves on a grenade to save other people into a descriptive egoist framework without stretching the concept of "self-interest" beyond the breaking point and rendering it meaningless (ie no "oh well they want those other people to be alive more than they want to be alive" that's obviously prioritizing other people's needs over one's own and redefining "self interest" to be just "a thing someone wants")

The guys in these photos are males in the process of transitioning into breeding plumage, which is why they're all patchy! When they're fully in breeding plumage, they look like this:

Females and males out of breeding plumage look like this:

You can see how the males in the original post are partway between the two! The species is also known as the Red Avadavat or the Red Munia, and they're native to southern Asia
