I am trying so hard not to engage with any anti-behavior on here, and I’m certainly not seeking it out on Twitter, so you will have to get someone else’s opinion on this, I’m sorry.

My ship is endgame and canon, and both actors love it very much, and I also love it very much. That is more than enough for me, and I like to let everyone ship whatever they would like to ship.

My one comment is, I wish that fandom would listen to Cynthia Erivo speaking about her intent nd opinions on Elphaba and her relationships, and not just ignore them if they don’t support an argument. It comes off horrible, when the two actors whose takes people ignore and invalidate are the Black queer actress and the openly gay actor on the cast.

TO ANYONE WHO USES DISCORD- FOUR AI SCRAPING BOTS HAVE BEEN SECRETLY ADDED TO YOUR SERVERS WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT

Saw this going around and tested it myself, and I can confirm that this is unfortunately legit. Four hidden bots have been placed in any existing or newly created Discord server that are harvesting data, images, and most concerningly, one seems to be a face swap bot.

Due to them being invisible, banning them from your servers isn't possible without their ID's, which I've typed out for easy access.

Banning is done with the /ban command with each string pasted in one at a time. Four ban commands in total.

Image proof below and further information. This was in my PERSONAL server that has existed for +5 years. Discord is harvesting your shit without your consent, fight back.

Hey so in case you're like me and wondered: Can you ban members without them being in the server?

The answer is yes, you absolutely can! It'll look like this - the numbers you paste will be what's "banned"

However my sibling tried this in her servers and found that One of them was NOT a string of numbers, like so:

And for clarity it isn't a difference in user or device, this is what she got elsewhere:

So if you ban these numbers and the message shows the actual username? Pretty sure that means they were in there.

Very unpleasant way to check the veracity of this post but hopefully this is a helpful tip for anyone who was concerned - my sib would have No Reason to add these in herself and didn't have any clue it was in there.

Personally, I'd say even if you are still worried about misinfo/fearmongering/etc from this post, think of it this way - worst case scenario is you're banning a bot you'll never use or need. Not a person, a bot. There's no real damage done playing it safe and running the ban commands through, aside from maybe losing some time doing so.

Wishing I'd seen this more quickly - Had to take these things out of a lot of creative spaces just now. I'm not convinced that the username only shows up if they were in there, but I do think it's better safe than sorry, especially when peoples' art is involved.

I've been thinking about how flawed WFG is and I think I realized what really crippled it, and I think it's the fact that Chu and team were all married to the girls getting almost exactly the same amount of screentime. Because we know there was at least one Glinda/Fiyero scene that got deleted, as well as the scene of her in the pink and green fluffy dress and Thank Goodness got bits cut out of it too (assuming Jonathan and Ariana didn't just kiss on set for no reason). So I think all of the necessary Elphaba scenes (NPLH reprise, Fiyero even you, the final scene with Scarecrow, etc) were deleted so that they could have approximately equal screen time. And unfortunately I think that really contributed to the movie being very very flawed, because it didn't allow for Elphaba's endgame relationship to get the development it needed throughout the movie, and it stifled the growth and character development she had, thus short changing her arc.

If they had let the entire story breathe instead of being so focused on it being equally about both girls and nobody else getting anything extra, I think the movie would have been much better. But they were so focused on equal screentime for each, to the detriment of the movie and the detriment of Elphaba specifically, and it could be risking Cynthia her Oscar simply because she was shortchanged in her own movie for the sake of equal screentime.

This could also be about them wanting to push Ariana Grande over their black queer actress, but I couldn't possibly comment on that, and the end result is the same

Oh, don’t worry, I love getting my askbox invaded with genuinely interesting takes like this, and I actually really agree with almost everything you said - with one distinction:

My issue, even as a Fiyeraba shipper is not even with Elphaba’s endgame relationship being stifled, or more specifically not with that not getting enough focus. At the end of the day, Fiyero as a character in the narrative is there to support the stories of both girls, and both Glinda and Elphaba bounce off of him - no pun intended. They both need him for their story arcs to function.

The filmmakers kicked the legs out from under Elphaba’s whole storyline in movie 2, and its clear that when they started off, they knew exactly what was needed - that’s why they wrote and recorded NPLH. But by taking out multiple scenes that we know were planned, shot, completed, but removed later on, they made that whole emotional arc of NPLH just… fall to the ground.

  • Elphaba is hated in Oz
  • Elphaba wonders why she still loves the place that never loved her
  • …. ????
  • Elphaba doesn’t reconcile that doubt and doesnt ansswer that question ever, she just leaves Oz.

And sure, since she leaves with Fiyero, he was essential for this emotional storyline to blossom, but like you said, they removed many of his/their scenes about that. I think this is the reason why more of the normies/regular watchers read the film as being anti-feminist, cause it does seem like Elphaba is just happy that she got the man and ran off - but upon multiple watches, or paying more attention to the lyrics of NPLH, you realize that there is so much more under that arc.

Anyways, I think we agree for the most part Anon, or maybe we fully agree even, and I just overexplained something again.
