Chapter Seventeen: Not So Platonic Date
Charlie couldn’t help the grin that spread over her face as she took in the dim lighting in the room, tea candles burning in the table accompanied by wine glasses filled with red, and water glasses beside them. He’d even arranged the plates the way you would see in a fine dining restaurant.
“Too romantic?” Rafael asked, arching a brow a little nervously.
“No, it’s nice,” she assured, glancing back at him. “No flowers, so I’d say you’re off to a good start,” she teased.
“Right,” he chuckled, nodding briefly before holding out a hand towards the table and waiting for her to sit before he pushed her chair forward for her and went to grab the dishes he’d prepared. “So this is lechón. It’s pork, and with it moros–black beans and rice– and maduros.”
“Sounds great,” she mused as he served her first. “No music?” she asked playfully when he began to serve himself.
“No, you don’t like flowers, so…no music for you,” he teased, making her chuckle as she picked up her fork and began to eat.
“Shit, this is good,” she groaned around a mouth full of lechón and earning a smirk from him.
“Glad you like it,” he mumbled softly.
They ate in relative silence, making small conversation here and there, but mostly comfortably enjoying their meals until she was leaning back in her chair and placing a hand on her stomach.
“Jesus, that was good,” she sighed contently.
“Good,” he replied, smirking as he picked up their plates and rinsed them off.

Well, I’m still not reassured. Because what else was Julie supposed to say? They would never announce whether a cast member was about to leave before the season even started. When did we learn that Danny would leave at the end of season 16?

Every time a new character is introduced, something changes (for example, Rollins and Amaro when Stabler left, Carisi when Amaro left, and our lovely Barba after SO MANY DA’s). All I know is, if Raúl is replaced or if ANYBODY LEAVES, I will personally fly from Miami to New York and rip NBC a new one. Don’t mess with daddy and his friends
