Gas Lab and Kazumi Kaneda's latest album-length collaboration "Trans Pacific" is a beautifully conceived contemporary jazz experience made for the soul - from the soul. Curtain raiser "Pipe Dream" sets the tone for this triumphant project built on a bed of Gas Lab's funk and Latin-infused bass paired with Kaneda's uplifting jazz keys. Written and recorded across an ocean from their respective homes in Buenos Aires and Tokyo, "Trans Pacific" features performances from Andrew Gould, David Lavoie, Javier Martinez Vallejos, Juan Klappenbach and Hector Mario. Equal parts soaring and sultry, Gas Lab and Kazumi Kaneda present an impeccably produced album that is a joyful melding of two artists we can't get enough of.
