so I added every single language as my preferred language on youtube and it stopped autotranslating the titles and autodubbing the videos with AI voices.

like, setting side moralizing about AI or whatever (since both sides of that debate is filled with people that cannot live in reality about things), the idea that every video needs to be coherent with 0 effort to everyone (so that google can monetize everything to everyone) is the opposite of my philosophy in interacting with another culture. Even if I don't understand it at first, I want it in its original context. I want to be able to experience something and live in the wonder of not knowing, then be able to go back with more knowledge and context and enjoy that, too. Google, in its ideology of instant understanding for the sake of infinite monetization, is taking this part of encountering other cultures and even if it means installing a dozen firefox extensions or going through every single language google offers and clicking them each as my primary language, I'll do it.

ive seen numerous times people call wikipedia a "collection of autistic pedantry" and like idk man maybe dont stereotype people, im sure a lot of wikipedia editors, myself included are autistic but like its weird to stereotype autistic people like this or act like wanting to help keep information clear and readily available is only something autistic people care about.
