New outgoing messages from external apps don't show in open conversations

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Open a specific conversation in Messages
2. Send SMS to contact with external service, e.g. MAXS
3. Wait...

Expected behavior

Outgoing message shows immediately

Actual behavior

Outgoing message does not appear

Additional information

In comparison, Chomp SMS and QUIK SMS both show the outgoing message immediately.

In Messages, they don't show if I'm already in the conversation screen. However, if I exit the conversation then immediately open it again, they do show.

Even if I'm in the "index" screen, it can take seconds to minutes for new outgoing messages to appear. I have to open conversations manually to force them to refresh.

I get the same issue, but not using third party app.
