Thank you for your usage of Amazon Pinpoint. After careful consideration, we have made the decision to discontinue Amazon Pinpoint, effective October 30, 2026. Today, customers use Amazon Pinpoint either for its engagement capabilities, or its messaging channel APIs. We have created offboarding plans for both sets of customer use cases.
What does this change mean for you?
If you are using Amazon Pinpoint engagement features (endpoints, segments, campaigns, journeys, and analytics), we recommend that you migrate to Amazon Connect proactive engagement solutions. These solutions include Amazon Connect outbound campaigns [1] and Amazon Connect Customer Profiles [2], which allow you to drive personalized, timely engagements across channels with unified performance tracking and the ability to manage inbound (for example, customer support) and outbound (for example, proactive communications) engagements using one application. If you are using events collection and mobile analytics, we recommend you to use Amazon Kinesis [3].
Amazon Pinpoint communication channels (SMS, MMS, push, WhatsApp, and text to voice messaging capabilities), were renamed in Q3 2024 as AWS End User Messaging [4], and will continue to serve developer needs for message delivery with customers. Use of APIs related to SMS, Voice, Mobile Push, OTP and Phone Number Validate will not be affected by this change. If you are using Amazon Pinpoint to send emails, we recommend that you migrate to Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) [5]. If you are using the email deliverability dashboard in Amazon Pinpoint, we will offer similar functionality in SES by October 30, 2026.
The following are key timelines:
• May 20, 2025 - October 30, 2026: You can continue using your existing Amazon Pinpoint engagement features.
• After October 30, 2026: All Amazon Pinpoint engagement features will cease to function. APIs related to SMS, Voice, Mobile Push, OTP and Phone Number Validate will not be impacted for existing customers.A list of your affected resources is listed in the 'Affected resources' tab of your AWS Health Dashboard.
