Issue: gsudo locks up in Cygwin window

Issue Description

When gsudo is invoked in a Cygwin terminal window, after an indeterminate period of time, the window locks up (no keyboard characters are working)

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a Cygwin terminal window
2. execute: gsudo
3. start typing characters. After some short amount of time, the terminal window locks up. It doesn't appear to be a fixed amount of time or depend on the characters typed.

Context:

• Windows version: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19045.5737] - 22H2
• gsudo version: gsudo v2.6.0 (Branch.tags-v2.6.0.Sha.8067a30b9a83dc3ba318c0007644d1878773abec)
  (gsudo installed via Chocolatey)

I was able reproduce it locally only once, and it was within Cygwin64 Terminal. I suspect this can be related by the fact that Cygwin’s terminal is not a true Windows console.

Running W11 and:
$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-10.0-27823 DESKTOP 3.5.3-1.x86_64 2024-04-03 17:25 UTC x86_64 Cygwin

I can recommend you a few workarounds:

1. Execute gsudo from a Windows Terminal

   • Open Windows Terminal
   • Run C:\tools\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe -l -i (replace with the full path)

2. Create a Cygwin profile in Windows Terminal

   • In Windows Terminal, click the ↓ arrow and open Settings
   • Add a profile with command line to {path to cygwin}cygwin64\bin\bash.exe -l -i

3. Elevate in new window

   • Use gsudo -n
   • or set permanently with gsudo config NewWindow.Force true

Thanks for the Windows Terminal suggestion - that prevents the lockups. But now I have other issues/questions I'll ask here - let me know if I should ask them in another place.

1. When I run gsudo in a Cygwin Bash shell, it correctly creates an elevated shell. But the bash shell isn't invoked with arguments telling bash that it is a login shell. Is there a way to configure gsudo to pass arguments to the bash shell invocation?

2. In Cygwin the prompt doesn't get applied. Cygwin bash uses the "PS1" environment variable, and it looks like gsudo creates a "PROMPT" environment variable.

3. I configured credential caching with "gsudo config CacheMode Auto" but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Should I see fewer UAC prompts on successive gsudo commands?

This consistently reproduces it for me:

# in Cygwin64 terminal (mintty)
'.../gsudo.exe' bash -c "read -p 'Please quickly press Enter key twice here: '; sleep 0.3; read -p 'The mintty terminal should be fully stuck now....'"
