Tool calling doesn't work with audio streaming

I am trying to use tool calls while using gemini streaming with the live_connect method. the receive function never provides response.tool_call

Environment details

• Programming language: python
• OS: windows
• Language runtime version: 3.11
• Package version: 1.20.0

Steps to reproduce

1. Use boilerplate code to start with streaming from ai studio
2. add tools list (list of functions) in the live server config

Hi @janasangeetha , thanks for sharing the cookbook. While this was very usefull, I found another problem...

I am using the native voice model "models/gemini-2.5-flash-preview-native-audio-dialog", and I found out that tool calling does work with english but not with other languages like hindi and tamil
