Hey

I have started to check out Jay on my two computers: PC with AMD graphics and laptop with Nvidia graphics.

AMD works great, though my config is very rough.

On my laptop the integrated monitor is working out of the box, but i am not able to get external monitors working. All outputs of my laptop are hardwired through the Nvidia card, but are working in Sway.

Do you know what i can do to investigate further?

My config: jay-config

OS: Fedora Silverblue 39 beta
Laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad P1
Graphics driver: Nouveau

I appreciate your effort and i really hope i can make this work 🙏

Please attach a log file from a session where the external monitors did not work. You can find the path of the log file with jay log --path while running jay.

jay only supports the atomic modesetting API. It is possible that sway works because it also supports the legacy API.

You can enable the API for the nvidia driver as described here: https://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/435.17/README/kms.html

rpm-ostree kargs --append=nvidia-drm.modeset=1 did not work. I still get the same error. I will try with nvidia drivers and see if that works
