dwm/dwl mode

Hi, I was thinking about learning rust and I really want this feature in jay, so I decide to implement a dwm mode in jay, but I don't know how to start the project, should I make a fork project? or just make the PR to jay? (I think this is better and I can just turn on this feat via some kind of flag (maybe?)), any tips?

Sorry, I should have explained better. I'm talking about a master layout with tags instead of workspaces
