  > gem install postgres-pr
  > irb -r rubygems 

Then in the interactive Ruby interpreter type (replace DBNAME and DBUSER
accordingly):

  require 'postgres-pr/connection'
  c = PostgresPR::Connection.new('DBNAME', 'DBUSER')
  c.query('SELECT 1+2').rows              # => [["3"]]
