When testing out a sound effect in the sound editor, then clicking undo, I wouldn't expect the original sound to play. It could discourage "tinkering" with sound effects, since replaying the original sound makes the iterative exploration (of "test and undo") take longer, especially for longer sound clips.
Actual Behavior
If you try a sound effect, then click undo, the "original" sound plays.
