- Safari version: 18.3.1

Issue Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install AdGuard

Expected Behavior

AdGuard should not block the port that allows synchronization of AirPods settings between devices.

AirPods have two settings for "Connect to this (divide type - Example Mac)": Automatically OR When last connected to this Mac. I want it set to "When last connected to this Mac." This setting reverts to Automatically with AdGuard installed on iOS.

Actual Behavior

AdGuard prevents the AirPods "Connect to this" settings from syncing when installed. This bug makes my Mac hijack my AirPods from my iPhone anytime I'm near it, even during active calls. An Apple Support Engineer says that many adblocker software tend to block this port and create the issue. I confirmed that uninstalling AdGuard on iOS fixes the problem, and reinstalling AdGuard reintroduces the problem.

Additional Information

This is an odd issue but an important one, as it hinders my AirPods connection to active phone calls on my iPhone when I am near my Mac.

@drjw7 We’ve tried to reproduce this issue, but to no avail. To help us investigate further, could you please provide some additional information? Here are a few questions:

  1. Are you trying to switch to When last connected to this Mac while the AirPods are connected to your Mac, your iPhone, or neither?
  2. Would switching to When last connected to this Mac work if you disable DNS protection in the AdGuard for iOS application?
