Access trending topics from Bluesky via the API?

Is it possible to see the trending topics via the ATProto API? I didn't see a method for it in the list.

I imagine that they're at least country specific, so an option to query per country would be good.

Public Bluesky app requests: https://public.api.bsky.app/xrpc/app.bsky.unspecced.getTrendingTopics
Or one can do a authenticated call directly to a PDS, for example https://partall.no/xrpc/app.bsky.unspecced.getTrendingTopics (use a bsky hosted PDS)

Thanks, I'll check out the latter. I did start to screen scrape the /search page, but was't sure how lenient Bluesky would be about that.

Scraping did get me the post counts, which don't seem to be on the first link you posted.

Yes! Wow, this is amazing. Thank you for all the pointers. I did some obvious searches first, but didn't stumble upon this (thanks, ADHD). I had no idea that the Bluesky app was open source like this!

Perfect for what I wanted to do (visualise trends and their categories over time).
