@leemthompo what do you think that we should do with this given the current state of enterprise search and the cloud docs? |
In keeping with the philosophy of docs V3 being targeted at 9.0+, AFAICT the Cloud docs in the new system do not highlight Enterprise Search (because it disappears post-8.x). We could perhaps add this info to the Enterprise Search guide, which will live forever in 8.x, if it's deemed important enough for existing customers. @ppf2 any thoughts on this? |
@leemthompo Even when 9.0 is released, existing users who had Enterprise Search deployments before are allowed to continue to create Enterprise Search deployments on Elastic Cloud Hosted. Will we still keep the < 9.0 Elastic Cloud Hosted documentation around so we can add the known issue to it? 😃 If we are not keeping Enterprise Search related information in the Elastic Cloud Hosted docs post 9.0 release, can we add a note to the 9.0 Elastic Cloud Hosted to redirect users who are looking for Enterprise Search information to the Enterprise Search guide (and we can add this known issue to the Enterprise Search guide)? |
I think this should live in the Enterprise Search guide, I don't think there was ever any operationally important stuff in the ECH docs that wasn't in the ent search guide in any case. |
FYI the page in question remains in archived mode |
