Hello,
Are planning to add timeout for search task cancellation? It is there in opensearch
opensearch-project/OpenSearch#986

Hi @uchiha-asha ,
the search API already supports a timeout top-level parameter, and the async search API accepts a keep_alive value. When calling the search API, closing the underlying http connection will result in cancelling the search task, automatically.

We are not planning on adding a new timeout / cancellation mechanism at this time.

Could you perhaps clarify what improvement you are interested on top of the existing Elasticsearch's timeout mechanisms?
